Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Quortek Technology Solutions ("we," "us," "Quortek") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use our website and mobile apps (together, the "Service") to post or fulfil local service jobs (electricians, plumbers, AC technicians, builders, and similar trades) in Cyprus.

We are the data controller for the personal data described below. You can contact us at info@quortektech.com or by post at Larnaca, Cyprus with any question or request about your data.

This policy is written in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, contact us before agreeing to it.

1. Who this applies to

  • Customers: people who post a job on the platform.
  • Companies: registered service-provider businesses, including their staff accounts (owners, admins, and field employees) who log in to accept and carry out jobs.

2. What we collect

From customers

  • Account details: name, phone number, email (optional), and either a password or a one-time SMS/email verification code, depending on how you sign up.
  • Job details: service category, description, an optional photo, your preferred date/time (or "flexible"), and your job location: either a general area, or a precise pin if you choose to drop one.
  • Communications: messages/ratings you submit about a completed job.
  • Device data: if you use the mobile app, a push-notification token tied to your device, so we can notify you about your job (e.g. "a company accepted your job").

From companies and their staff

  • Account details: company name, and for each staff login: name, email, phone, and password.
  • Verification information we use to confirm you're a legitimate business before you can accept jobs.
  • Wallet and transaction data: your prepaid wallet balance and the history of top-ups and job-acceptance fees. We do not store your card details: top-ups are processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor (see Section 5).
  • Location data, only while "on my way" sharing is active: if a field employee opts in to share their live location for a specific job (so the customer can see them en route, similar to a delivery-tracking app), we collect and broadcast that location for the duration of that job, then discard it. Location sharing is per-job and must be actively turned on by the employee; it is never collected in the background.
  • Device data: push-notification tokens, as above.

Automatically, from anyone using the Service

  • Standard technical data: IP address, browser/device type, and basic usage logs, for security and to keep the Service running reliably.
  • See our separate Cookie Policy for what we store in your browser or app storage specifically.

4. Who sees what

  • Between customers and companies: a customer's identity/contact details are hidden until a company pays to accept their job; at that point, that specific company (and only that company) can see the customer's name, phone, and email. Which specific employee at that company is internally assigned to the job is never shown to the customer; the customer only ever sees "the company."
  • Ratings: a company's overall rating and completed-jobs count are public. A customer's rating of a specific job is private, visible only to the company that was rated on that job, never to other companies or publicly.
  • We do not sell personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Third parties we share data with

We use a small number of service providers ("processors") to run the platform. They only receive the data needed to perform their function, and are contractually required to protect it:

  • Stripe (payment processing): handles wallet top-up and job payments. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Twilio (SMS): sends verification codes and job-completion links by text message.
  • Expo (push notifications): delivers push notifications to the mobile apps.
  • Hostinger: hosts our servers, database, and website.
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram), if/when we run advertising campaigns: see the Cookie Policy for how this works and how to opt out.

Some of these providers are based outside the EU/Cyprus (e.g. the United States). Where that's the case, we rely on their standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards recognized under GDPR for the transfer.

We may also disclose data where required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a business transfer (e.g. a merger or acquisition), subject to the same protections described here.

6. How long we keep data

  • Account data: kept while your account is active, and for a reasonable period after closure in case you return or to resolve any dispute.
  • Financial & transaction records (wallet top-ups, job fees): kept for six years, in line with Cyprus tax and accounting record-keeping requirements.
  • Live location data: not retained; it's only stored for the duration of an active "on my way" session and is cleared when the employee stops sharing or the job is marked complete.
  • OTP/verification codes: expire automatically within minutes and are not reused.

7. Your rights

If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, data protection law (GDPR) gives you the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to our legal obligation to keep certain records (e.g. financial transactions).
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Port your data to another service in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent (e.g. live location sharing, marketing).
  • Complain to a supervisory authority: in Cyprus, the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@quortektech.com.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: passwords are stored hashed (never in plain text), payment card data never touches our servers, and access to personal data is limited to what's needed to run the Service. No system is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over, since it involves posting or fulfilling paid service jobs. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you (e.g. in-app notice or email).
